This vine/shrub grows in our backyard. It’s currently producing lots of yellow flowers and I have seen neighbors with them growing in their yards, so it has to be a popular plant. Below is current pictures of the plant in my backyard. I live in Lafayette, Louisiana…which is about 40 miles from the gulf coast.

I’m wearing a red dress with black accessories and my date is wearing all black with a red tie. Would red flowers and a black ribbon work? Or would it look too trashy/depressing? Or would white flowers and a red ribbon be better? No one is wearing any white.
i am looking for a type of grass seed that will take in hard ground. i tried Scott’s and raked the ground as best as i could but it just comes up in little spots. if anyone has any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it.
I have been getting a bit more serious into photography, and lately I have been trying to decide if a DSLR is for me. I have never used a DSLR until just recently a friend of mine finally got one and let me play around with it a bit and showed me a few things. After that I knew I wanted one. I started to look into it more and learned a bit more of the ins and outs.
I know that there is no such thing as the "best DSLR" it’s more based around what your using it for. The problem I’m having is that the more and more I look into it I see that I do a lot of stuff with mine.
First off I need a camera with a decent number of Megapixels due to my photo editing needs and large printing needs.
Second, I need a camera that that has low noise at high ISO levels due to me using it in tons of different light settings.
Third, I realize that a majority of my photos are outdoors and I would need to have some sort of camera that cleans the digital sensor just in case.
Four, I never use a tripod. I’m always on the go with my camera and I do have shaky hands and would like it to have an Image Stabilization of some sort.
Five, would like it to have a large number of Auto focus point systems.
Basically I sat down and figured my basic uses for this camera are:
Landscapes,
Close up Pictures (like rain drops)
Night/ Low and Odd light conditions
Outdoors
Spontaneous Photos
Some Planned and Staged Photos and Portraits
I know to get a lot of these features it would cost a lot of money, which me for a novice at DSLRs can eventually get with time and more money. I realize that to capture many of these different shots I will need different lenses and so forth and realize that it can add up quite fast.
So I am asking you guys, what do you think is a good starting camera and gear that I can start with and add on to as I progress? I sort of prefer Canon and Nikon but will consider other suggestions if you can tell me why would I chose them over those two. I have been looking at the Canon and Nikon websites at them as so far I really like the Nikon D5000 and the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i EF-S. Does anyone have any experience with these cameras or uses them and tell me what they think and what other lenses would you recommend for my needs?
Thanks! Will give points for best answers!
Also size doesn’t matter to me, I know I said I go everywhere with my camera and I will with this one to, but I don’t really care how heavy it is.
I’m travelling across the barren northern landscape. Nothing but trees for miles. It slips my absent mind that the small towns close for business early. I’m worried. I’m low on gas. That’s why I’m worried. 40 miles out from the next black dot on the map, I begin to pray. Please God let this vehicle reach the black dot. 20 miles out she dies… right beside a huge billboard for a towing company! It’s 03:27am. I’m cheap and don’t want to call a tow truck. Off to my right, in the boreal forest, I faintly see the shimmer of light. Yes, shimmering light! God? No, a wood chipping crew. I make my way back through the mist and trees to find….all diesel powered equipment. But alas, there is a mechanic on the site…with a jerry can….containing 2 gallons of ….GASOLINE! He gives it to me free of charge. (I gave him a bottle of Minute Maid orange juice). By the grace of God, I reached the next black dot, where a 24hr. station stood. Have you ever heard a more miraculous story?
Like which of these scenes would be less of a culture shock for a British person? #1? Or #2?
1) French-speaking cafes and bakeries, German beer yards, Dutch chocolate shops, Belgian waffels, Spanish tapas, Italian gelaterias, Austrian operas, Hungarian fountains, etc etc etc
OR
2) Completely different! Wild West Texas Gun shows and cowboys and honky tonk pianos and Texas ranches and wide open stretches of farmland and rocky mountains and Desert on a journey west west west via Las Vegas casinos and Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA sunset strip. OUT WEST TO CALIFORNIA BABY!!!!!!!! Across the width of the United States of America. English the only spoken language, except some Spanish-speakers.
What is more comforting for British people?
I need a landscape form painting or picture off the internet by tonight for art classes tomorrow. I would like it to be a field of purple flowers similar to this:

but in landscape.
